Mississippi Water Walkers, Sharon Day

Water Walker Sharon Day talks about her walk down the length of the Mississippi. More

Day’s walk included stops for communal gatherings in St. Paul, St. Louis, Memphis, Baton Rouge and Fort Jackson where the Mississippi empties into the Gulf of Mexico. Day, who poured clean water from the headwaters into the river in Fort Jackson, says,”We wanted to give the river a taste of herself.” She walked with a core group of 5 or 6 people but more than 200 others participated along the way.
