Host Michael Portillo is back for a fourth season of GREAT AMERICAN RAILROAD JOURNEYS adventures! Portillo (Great Continental Railway Journeys) explores more of America, armed with Appleton’s General Guide to the United States, published in 1879. In this season four, he concentrates on North America — Alaska and Canada. Each program is punctuated with vignettes revealing the rich tapestry of people who built a life in this vast “New World.”
