Franconia Sculpture Park's 2012 Artist in Residence, Bridget Beck, creates interactive sculptures inspiring playfulness and nostalgia.
Sculpture artist Bridget Beck focuses on large scale public artwork. As the most recent Artist in Residence at Franconia Sculpture Park, she’s created giant whimsical sculptures, reminiscent of childhood playgrounds. Her work is meant to be interacted with, climbed on and is designed to inspire creativity, playfulness and nostalgia. Her most recent work, “Locomotive” aims to bring the art to members of the community who might not have a chance to get out to experience the art park. Working with seniors at area nursing homes, Bridget created a traveling sculpture inspired by and honoring the old days of the locomotive.
