Brother/sister duo, Dario and Giselle Mejia, started Curio Dance only a little over a year ago but they have already received much praise. We get a sneak peak at a new dance and see how the siblings combine classical training with jazz, modern and club, creating their own unique style. Artist Bio: Talent runs in the Mejia family; that's clear even from their educational achievements. Dario received a full tuition scholarship to The Julliard School, while sister Giselle graduated Cum Laude from SUNY's Conservatory of Dance. In fact, it was their classical training that laid the foundation for Curio Dance, which the siblings started in Minneapolis in 2009. A mix of jazz, modern and club elements, the Mejias' Ecuadorian heritage has a large influence on their company's style. In addition to work at the studio and teaching, the pair provides dance outreach programs in Twin Cities communities, and they have performed in an amazing variety of venues from the Quest, 1st Avenue, and the North Star Opera Company to the Vikings Halftime Show and the St. Paul Mayoral Inauguration.
