Twins Janani and Jeyani Narayan play Carnatic violin, a form of classical south Indian music. The Narayan sisters have performed extensively both in the states and in India, and also study western classical music at MacPhail Center for Music and perform with Minnesota Youth Symphonies. Here, they talk about Carnatic music and perform Neerada Sama in tpt’s Studio A with their teacher Shri Mullaivasal Chandramouli, from Chennai, India, and Sriram Natarajan (mridangam drum) and Chandran Balaji V.
