Writing/Essay/Journal
Philip Daniel likes working in stained glass because he is able to work publicly and create work that will be enjoyed more widely than if it were in someone’s private collection.
Design a piece of public art to beautify a place you know. How and why did you choose that location? What imagery would you choose? In what medium would you work?
Activity
Philip Daniel puts a modern spin on the very historic process of stained glass. Re-envision a process—artistic or otherwise—that you are familiar with. Put your own spin on that familiar process and create something new using your new method. Don’t be afraid to experiment!
