Writing/Essay/Journal
Scott Stulen splits his time between his artwork, music and working as Director of a website for Minnesota artists. In his work, Stulen expresses himself through very different forms of art: primarily painting and DJing. What are some very different ways in which you express yourself? What are some ways you could help other people express themselves? Is helping others artists produce their artwork also an art form? How does Stulen add his personal touch to his art? What do you like best about this form of art?
Activity
Whether in his painting or his DJing, Stulen likes putting together things that “have no business being together.” Create a new piece of art by joining or “mashing-up” two references (images, sounds, phrases, etc) that are so different that you might say they have no business being together.
