If we made America From Scratch today, would we elect our Supreme Court Justices and should they have term limits?

The right to an abortion, the right to marry, the Dred Scott decision—some of the United States’ most controversial, historic and influential legal decisions have been made for us by a group of people we didn’t get to choose. The U.S. Supreme Court is one of the tenets of our democracy, but is the way these justices are put in place very democratic? Host Toussaint Morrison talks with Hamline University professor of political science David Schultz and wonders: If we started America from scratch today, would we elect our Supreme Court justices?
