There’s nothing quite like Christmas in Minnesota
It’s no secret that Minnesota is blessed with some of the most talented young musicians and performers in the country. Even so, we’re reminded of that fact every holiday season when TPT records holiday concerts at colleges throughout the state for national broadcast.
This year, St. Thomas makes an phenomenal reappearance with “So Bright the Star,” celebrating the Christmas season with traditional carols, innovative contemporary selections, and a world premiere performance of a new piece by renowned composer Ola Gjeilo. You can watch A St Thomas Christmas: So Bright the Star on TPT 2 Friday, December 22 at 8 p.m (see all listings).
The Christmas spirit doesn’t end there…
Also appearing on TPT this December is Christmas in Christ Chapel at Gustavus. The performance from Gustavus Adolphus College showcases music, dance, and spoken word that follows a unique theme: “Ubuntu, Jesu: From the Cradle of Humankind to the Ends of the Earth.” Gustavus’ production contains artistic choices grounded in the African cultural traditions and takes place under a symbolic baobab tree. Christmas in Christ Chapel at Gustavus airs on TPT 2 Friday, December 15 at 8 p.m (see all listings).
