A St. Thomas Christmas: Bloom Eternal, to premiere in December

TPT partners with St. Thomas to capture the 2021 program

October 27, 2021

A St. Thomas Christmas concert is a winter tradition for the entire University of St. Thomas community. TPT is proud to partner once again to capture the magic that happens each December. 2021 allowed for a group to finally gather safely to showcase the university’s world-class vocal and instrumental ensembles in concert in front of a masked audience in downtown Minneapolis at Orchestra Hall. Orchestra Hall is home to the acclaimed Minnesota Orchestra and widely known for its acoustic design in the honored tradition of renowned European concert halls.

This year’s program theme, Bloom Eternal, celebrates resiliency and growth which is only appropriate considering the trials and tribulations of our recent times. This special celebrates the Advent and Christmas season by drawing from both familiar traditional carols and innovative contemporary selections.

This year St. Thomas will offer a specifically commissioned piece, Lo, How a Rose E’er Blooming by Roger Cichy. TPT is honored to share this one-hour program with our audiences. See a full list of the program’s offerings below.

TPT is honored to share this one-hour program with our audiences. Make sure to watch Bloom Eternal on TPT 2 on December 21 at 8 p.m. or stream it online at TPT.org or by using the PBS Video App.
