Writing/Essay/Journal
Musician John Gorka wrote the song Blue Chalk for some of his friends who he hadn’t been in contact with, but who he heard were in trouble. What do you do when your friends get in trouble? Do you try to help them? Are there things you wouldn’t do to help your friends? How does Gorka depict his relationship with another place, person or thing?
Activity
Write a song about someone you have lost contact with: perhaps an old friend who moved away, a pet who died, or someone you haven’t spoken to in a while.
