Tools/Resources: Shoebox/Cardboard box, paper, scissors, glue, markers, and colored paper.
Activity
1) Watch the segment and discuss:
a. How has Tyler Michaels worked to achieve his goals?
b. What surprised you most about the life of a working actor?
2) What do you value as achievement in your life?
a. Is it an award, a piece of art you created, a story you’ve written?
b. What obstacles did you have to overcome to reach your goal?
3) Tyler’s mom has kept a “stardom” box of past playbills, newspaper clippings and images from his years in the theater. Create your own “stardom” box.
a. Decorate the outside with words and drawings that reflect your goals.
b. What are you able to put in there now and what are hoping to include in the future?
